Its Elk season once again!!! The only safe place in Colorado for an Elk at this time of year is at their lodge! We will keep the light on for you.
This month is calm, the calm before the storm. Christmas is coming There will NOT be a meeting on Thanksgiving per our by-laws. Our D. D. visit will be on December 10, 2009.
A big thank you goes out to all our volunteers for their help in October.
Evergreen Lodge 2363 has been awarded an ENF Impact Grant to help partner with operation Silver Spurs in Conifer, which will provide therapeutic horse riding for disabled veterans. Congranulations Evergreen Lodge 2363!!
A little boy needs our prayers!!! First Vice President Jerry and Alice Hilzer's grandson Calvin was admitted to ICU at Children's Hospital in Aurora on Saturday 10/24/09. Pickin In The Pumpkin Patch
Linda Eastwood and nine other ladies traveled to Hudson to the nearby Ray Rossi farm to pick pumpkins for the annual Robert Elliot Pumpkin Carving Contest held at the Elks Lodge hall every year in October. This event was started fifteen years ago when Bob Elliot showed up at the lodge and ask Linda if she and the Elkettes would have a pumpkin carving contest for the children in the Deer Trail area. Since Bob's death Linda has kept the tradition going every year. The Elkettes travel for a day in the pumpkin patch to bring back pumpkins for the children of the community to distribute around town.
