"BROWN DERBY CLOSED" *It bit the dust again*
|
I just found out tonight that the Brown Derby CLOSED again and the last night was their last night to be opened November 7th, 2008. What happened, no customers, no reliable help to keep the doors open, economy problems, and no money flow. Cost too much to run a business in Deer Trail?
Well, 240,000 jobs were lost just this month of October and 2.4 million jobs are lost in the last year, and the worst in 14 years. From big businesses to small, no one can keep the doors open. Too bad that the president in the last 8 years screwed up with so many job lost, money flow, housing market…. etc. It will take years to recover, no matter who is the president, and now the president elected will have to make a lot of decision in the next 4 year that will take office January 20th, 2009. It’s not an over night fix! RonSchaffer@Deertrailco.net

| Brown Derby 1999 |
|
| Here is the Old Brown Derby in Deer Trail Colorado. That’s been around for years, since 1930’s? The name “Brown Derby” comes from California. Roller Derby. That was the first Thing that was in the Brown Derby, a place to roller skate, on a Brown Wooden floor. The first owner. (Unknown)? Today "Real professional" “The new Look” Owner’s took over the business on about DECEMBER 11, 2000. But for some reason it didn’t make it. The name was change to WHAT? New York West Side? Never did know for sure what the name was going to be changing too! No signs? Grand Opening? Open When? No Business? Closed? What Happened? No help? Lease ran out? Ran all local's out? Bar Closed for some reason? The people of Deer Trail was Disappointed? No! To see a business go under? No! Who was at fault? Blame the residents of Deer Trail. We don’t think so!! After all, it’s been around for many years, off and on. Well, maybe the Original owner was DONNA J. PAPROSKI 1999 when Mr. James (Jim) Rossie had it. When Mrs.Lona Riggs ran the Kitchen in the 1950’s Great memories, over the years. Rodeo Time. Harvest time. Special dances. Special parties. Cowboy Rides Horse in bar. The Deer Trail Flood, were the water was Over the front bar. The good days! A very bad year! Flood of 1965 "Boot Scooting Boogie" Thank you. Ron Schaffer Deertrail131
Jerry Lee’s Restaurant & Tavern
"Boot Scooting Boogie" Right Out The Door. Dante’s at the Derby CLOSED July 7yh, 2003 Next the bar will fold up? Be gone like the wind! MAYBE NOT!! Jennifer Reed, new manager & Lori Moss will serve as bartender. GOOD LUCK.
